Our current virtual classes:

Post-Election Recentering + Regulation

Tuesday, November 12, 7:30pm EDT.

Teacher: Sasha Sigel

Many of us are reeling from the election results. Feelings of numbness, overwhelm, fear, anger, grief, and despair are being experienced across the world. Let’s come together to move and breathe through it all within community.

First, we’ll discharge stress or energetic “charge” we’ve been carrying. Through soothing yoga asana, pranayama, and meditation, we’ll find a way back to our center. We’ll aim to return to a regulated state, allowing us to move forward intentionally.

To end class, we’ll consider one action we can take to care for ourselves, and one action to care for our community in the coming weeks.

This class will be trauma-informed. Whether you are a trauma survivor or simply seeking a space for self-care, you are welcome here. Folks new to yoga are encouraged to join. This offering is free of charge.

Surviving + Thriving through the Holidays

Mondays, November 18-December 16, 7:00pm-8:00pm EDT. (5 classes)

Teacher: Sasha Sigel

Join us for a five-week journey dedicated to self-care and collective support. The holidays can be a tumultuous time; bringing up grief, anxiety, and difficult relationship dynamics. We may experience more isolation and loneliness than any other time of year. In this series, we’ll gently hold these experiences with compassion, and explore ways to nourish ourselves through difficult times. Rather than managing the holiday season alone, this series invites you to move through it with community by your side.

We’ll find “safe enough” ways to connect with our bodies through movement and learn to regulate our nervous systems. We’ll create a map to guide us through our unique circumstances, and practice creating healthyboundaries. We’ll learn how to find “okayness” in times of stress. (Maybe even ease and nourishment!) This series will integrate asana, pranayama, meditation, art, and journaling.

  • Week 1: Tending to our Nervous System

  • Week 2: Art and Asana

  • Week 3: Boundaries and Bingo

  • Week 4: Self Care Planning

  • Week 5: Peace and Pleasure Practices

Together, we'll explore safe and soothing practices to reconnect with our bodies, hearts, and minds. You’ll leave with specific tools to apply to your holiday plans (and beyond.)

This series is designed to be trauma-informed, and welcomes folks new to yoga. Whether you are a trauma survivor or simply seeking a space for self-care, we invite you to join us on this path towards holistic well-being.

Introduction to (Chair) Yoga

Mondays, January 27-March 18, 6:30pm-7:30pm EDT. (8 classes)

Teacher: Sasha Sigel

In the West, many of us think of yoga solely as a movement practice. In reality, it’s an eightfold path which provides guidance on how to live a purposeful life. This path was written down by a sage named Patanjali, through a text called The Yoga Sutras. Although the world looks different from how it did 2,000 years ago, these practices can still offer us incredible support and guidance.

This 8 week series revolves around seated asana as we gently explore movement, breath, and meditation. There will be plenty of time to adapt asana (postures) to fit your body exactly as it is. Let this be an invitation to build intimacy with your body and your inner world.

  • Week 1: Yama- Social/outward ethics

  • Week 2: Niyama- Personal/inward ethics

  • Week 3: Asana- Postures

  • Week 4: Pranayama- Energy management, breath

  • Week 5: Pratyahara- Withdrawal of the senses

  • Week 6: Dharana- One pointed focus

  • Week 7: Dhyana- Meditative absorption

  • Week 8: Samadhi- Bliss, enlightenment

Learn how to integrate the aspects of yoga into your daily life. Explore specific practices to help us embody the different limbs of yoga. We’ll mediate, breathe, and reflect as a community.

This practice is well suited for those who use mobility devices or have limited range of motion. It’s also suited for those who generally practice on the mat, but want to try a new approach to yoga. There will be occasional options for standing asana that use your chair for stability and balance, but seated variations will always be offered. You may join live or practice via recordings in your own time.

Beginner friendly and trauma informed. Open to all, whether or not you are a trauma survivor.
